A Tornado in my Tummy - Part 1 & 2

 This two-part online course is suitable for primary teachers and SNAs. 

September 27th at 6pm - “A Tornado in my Tummy” - Part 1: Understanding Children's Behaviour - Children’s behaviour is often complex to consider. The same behaviour, can mean different things for different children. As part of this workshop, together we will aim to understand why behaviours that are difficult to manage can happen among children. We will explore the different factors that might impact on behaviour and we will learn about how behaviour can be communication of an unmet need.

October 4th at 6pm -“A Tornado in my Tummy” - Part 2: Promoting Positive Behaviour - This workshop will explore and discuss how to promote positive behaviour among children. We will discuss strategies you can put in place to ensure that challenging behaviours are less likely to happen. These strategies will be both preventative and proactive. We will also discuss how to take care of yourself in trying to cope with these behaviours in the classroom. There will be the opportunity to share class management and behavioural strategies with other teachers.
