This webinar explores what sensory processing is, with a focus on sensory modulation difficulties. We look at how sensory hyper- and hyposensitivity challenges may present in the classroom, to help increase your understanding of a child’s attempt to self-regulate. Understanding what is going on is a crucial first step in helping children to cope with these sensory challenges.

Date - 5th May at 7.00pm
Building on the knowledge gained in the first webinar, we will further explore how sensory processing affects levels of alertness and arousal. We will discuss practical strategies and environmental adaptations to help the child self-regulate and to promote a calm & alert state conducive to learning.
Facilitator - Ageeth Hup
Ageeth Hup is a a Senior Occupational Theraptist and qualified primary educator with 30+ yrs of experience working with children and teenagers. Ageeth has also worked for HSE supported organisations, the Disability Support Service at NUI Galway and has founded her own private practice CAN-DO OT & Coaching.
As a guest lecturer at Mary Immaculate, Ageeth has provided OT related lectures for the SEN course for over 15 years and has also presented for under-graduate teacher students and for Education Centres in Limerick and Clare.
