Going Further with Chess - Advanced Chess seminar for Teachers - Autumn 2019
Want to take your school chess programme just a little bit further? Improve your own understanding of chess strategies and tactics? Look no further than this two-hour session on “Going Further with Chess”. You will be introduced to the main ideas behind playing a good game and shown how to teach these to your young players. You’ll also be shown a wealth of resources that are available to help you and your students take chess beyond beginner level.
Suitable for any teacher, primary or post-primary, who already knows how to play.
This workshop will be facilitated by April Cronin, former Irish Ladies No. 1 chess player and (recently) retired principal teacher. April’s been teaching chess and running school chess clubs throughout her career and has a wealth of experience to share.
It will take place in Drumcondra Education Centre on
Thursday 21st November 2019 from 19:00-21:00 hrs
