Facilitator Bio

Lorraine Scott is the Co-Owner and Director of Attention Autism Ltd is an Advanced Practitioner in the programme for over 10 years. 

Lorraine’s background is in teaching children with Special Educational Needs, she has a specialism in working with autistic children and young people. 

Lorraine is from Belfast, Northern Ireland and was formerly Head of the Learning Support and Assessment Division at Middletown Centre for Autism, where she was responsible for overseeing the team who worked with children and young people who, despite support from autism specific services, still experienced significant challenges in their school environment, at home and in the community. 

Lorraine formerly worked for the Southern Health and Social Care Trust as a Team Leader in an Autism Diagnostic and Support Service. Due to her experience in Health and Education settings, she was appointed as a member of the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) Guideline Development group for Autism Screen in and Diagnosis. Prior to this Lorraine was employed as a Psychoeducational Therapist for the University of North Carolina, in the TEACCH Autism Programme and is currently a certified Advanced Consultant in the TEACCH Programme. 

Lorraine has a MEd (distinction) in Special Education (Autism, Children) from the University of Birmingham.
