STEM Eyes: Get Your STEM Eyes on for Engineering!

Course Outline
The development of the new Primary Curriculum is an exciting time in our education system and society as a whole. To promote the development of STEM in the classroom, I will provide a range of ideas to support STEM learning using ‘STEM Eyes’.
My vision for ‘STEM Eyes’ includes guiding teachers to focus on the skills associated with STEM and providing appropriate learning opportunities to use in the classroom in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. By using our ‘STEM Eyes’ we can reflect on everyday experiences of STEM in our environments, for example, in the school garden, in the playground, in the supermarket etc. Practical examples will be provided to enhance the hands on learning experience of all students. The importance of ‘STEM Eyes’ in providing an inclusive and diverse approach to teaching will be highlighted as well as the integration of digital technologies in this area.
STEM Eyes on for Engineering will place an emphasis on the 'Design and Make' aspect of the curriculum. The webinar will discuss various engineering initiatives and provide useful ideas for 'Engineers Week 2025'.
