Supporting Emotional Regulation in Children
Emotional regulation is the process of consciously managing your own emotions, in order to achieve personal growth, fulfilment and goal satisfaction (Mayer & Salovey, 1997).
Emotional regulation is a key skill for well-being and resilience in children, and also in order for them to develop their potential in many other areas, including academic success.
It is a learned skill and can be developed through a combination of support and the use of practical strategies. Through this approach, we can teach children to accept and welcome all of their emotions, as well as ways to process them in healthy and constructive ways.
This webinar will provide teachers and SNAs with an overview of emotional regulation and ways to develop it in children.
