Students with Dyslexia may have very specific difficulties at second level which may make it difficult for them to achieve their potential. SNAs are in a position to provide some valuable support to those students.
The webinar sets out practical strategies and resources which could be used.

The two presenters are Wyn McCormack and Deirdre McElroy.
Wyn McCormack worked as guidance counsellor and special education teacher as well as being the parent of three sons with dyslexia. She has designed and presented courses on dyslexia for teachers, parents and students since 1996. She is the author of the Factsheets on Dyslexia at Second Level (2014), Lost for Words 3rd Ed. 2007, and co-author of Dyslexia, an Irish Perspective 2nd Ed 2010.
Deirdre McElroy has worked for a number of years as an educational psychologist with NEPS. Before that she taught Mathematics and History to Leaving Certificate Higher level. She also has a Masters in Special Education and has worked as a resource teacher.
